Ventia's on base our Hospitality & Catering team provide on average 1500 meals per month & at most 5000 meals per month. Our team provides Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Monday – Sunday for the Defence base, as well as special events throughout the year, such as high-end functions and catering in location at our two remote training sites for training exercises, camps, etc. An environment as such creates for a great opportunity for those looking to make a difference in a Chef De Partie / Commercial Cook position and progress their career within a high-profile Defence Contract. We are offering: A permanent, full-time opportunity, Hobart, Tasmania based Work life balance; our kitchen operates between 6.30am – 7pm for normal meal services (functions and remote site camp catering may be different), and you will generally get every second weekend rostered off, subject to operational requirements and staffing. Free Parking VenPerks; access to loads of discounts The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Ensure efficient preparation and delivery of meal services Abide to Ventia's Food Safety Program Participate in stock take and inventory control activities Clean, sanitise and maintain equipment, furniture and premises, ensuring all required repairs and maintenance are reported Skills & Experience: Commercial Cookery Certificate III, or above (or equivalent) Previous experience in a large commercial kitchen & fast paced environment Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations Strong planning and organisation skills As per contractual requirements, you will need to pass a police check and medical and be an Australian Citizen.
