Mount Coolum Day Care Centre is on the lookout for a dedicated and creative cook to join our team. As part of our centre, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our children by preparing nutritious and delicious meals that fuel their learning and growth. As our cook, you’ll have the opportunity to create a menu that is both nutritious and exciting for young children, all while contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment. What You’ll Be Doing Plan and Prepare Meals: Create and cook healthy, balanced, and child-friendly meals in line with dietary guidelines and individual needs. Create Excitement: Design appealing and varied menus that encourage children to enjoy nutritious foods. Ensure Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food allergies and special dietary requirements. Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the educators to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and contribute to children’s social and emotional development. What We’re Looking For Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Experience in a similar role, preferably within an early learning or child care setting. Knowledge of safe food handling practices and relevant qualifications (Food Safety Certificate). A passion for creating nutritious meals for children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
