Pathology Services Assistant

Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate and professional service to all patients and colleagues Manage incoming phone calls and respond promptly to enquiries Coordinate urgent specimen collections using a computer‑aided dispatch system Receive, unpack, and accurately receipt pathology specimens Prepare, process, and distribute specimens for testing Perform pre‑analytical procedures including centrifuging and aliquoting Safely lift and carry eskies as part of specimen handling requirements Register and accurately enter specimen data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) Maintain precision and attention to detail in all documentation and data entry tasks What we are looking for Strong communication and organisational skills The ability to work effectively in a busy, multi‑tasking environment A high level of commitment to accuracy, laboratory turnaround times, and customer service Comfort with manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following Proven keyboard and data entry skills Experience working in a fast‑paced, professional team environment A strong commitment to quality customer service A genuine willingness to learn and develop your skills. You’ll also need the flexibility to work a range of shift times between 7:00am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, and participate in a Saturday morning roster (7:00 am – 2:00 pm).
