Joining Waterman Aspen as a Highway Engineer will see you as a key member of the North East team and you can expect : A varied client base where you can apply and develop your skills Buy-in from clients to assist in your technical progression Further exposure to your chosen industry – increasing your awareness, knowledge and sharpening your skills The flexibility to broaden your horizons with each new secondment, without changing your employer Career development and training to reach your professional or academic qualification goals supported by our own network of mentors and managers Paid subscription to a professional body of your choice Regular social events and volunteering opportunities Experience required… Essential Competency to lead the design and project management of diverse transportation schemes Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards UK experience within a public, private or third-sector UK-based client Demonstratable skills and experience in Highway Design to undertake schemes over the full project lifecycle, including budget / finance control Competency in the use of DMRB, TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual, Manual for Streets and other local authority standards Knowledge of responsibilities under the CDM Regulations Proficiency in the use of Civil 3D software package Relevant design software experience such as AutoCAD, KeySign & KeyLines where applicable Desirable Knowledge and experience of signing and lining schemes Knowledge of LTN 1 / 20 A full UK driving licence Educated to BEng / MEng level in a Civil Engineering discipline or equivalent. Be chartered as a member of a recognised institution (ICE, CIHT, etc) or currently working towards chartership.
