About the team The Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) is an exciting, diverse, and dynamic division that drives the digital agenda for the department. Leading the delivery of the department's digital offerings and transformation, the CIO Division partners with business areas and stakeholders to: Realise the digital policy objectives of the department Define the department's digital landscape Co‑design digital experiences making it simpler to innovate, collaborate and communicate Drive the innovation and transformation of IT services Protect the department from cyber threats Provide a strong technology foundation for staff The CIOD is comprised of three branches and a taskforce: Digital Services for Business – delivers whole‑of‑government digital services that support Australian businesses and supports transformation of ICT services in alignment with government digital policy goals. Digital Strategy and Cyber Security – sets the direction for the division making sure that our technology is cyber secure, strategically sound and meets our accessibility and user needs. ICT Operations – delivers and maintains core ICT infrastructure and services, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and major transformation initiatives, ensuring departmental ICT systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with strategic objectives. Digital Services Modernisation Taskforce – transforming the department's business systems and driving the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI. The opportunity The Chief Information Officer Division is looking to fill the Manager, ServiceNow position. An order of merit may be established to fill upcoming and future vacancies. The ServiceNow team is responsible for managing and maintaining the department's ServiceNow Platform, delivering business as usual support and enhancements as well as project delivery for new features. The platform currently supports around 14,000 employees across the Department and shared service agencies. Our ideal candidate Our ideal candidate will have: Exceptional leadership skills with experience in leading teams to deliver positive business outcomes Experience in financial management, ICT procurement and contract/vendor management The ability to think strategically and drive forward planning in alignment with shared divisional priorities Outstanding judgement and strategic thinking, with a risk‑focused approach and ability to identify opportunities for improvement Experience applying contemporary ICT delivery approaches and technologies – such as agile, DevOps, human‑centred design, cloud, and artificial intelligence Experience in people leadership and management Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and work with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds Experience in leading change and building organisational capability, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation The key duties of the position include As the Manager you will: Lead a small multidisciplinary team of administrators, developers, business analyst and knowledge managers and provide coaching, training and performance feedback Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight of project and service delivery for a cloud‑based solution Lead platform roadmap planning and quarterly work planning Manage vendors and contracts to deliver outcomes Operational management of the platform, including monitoring platform performance, risk and issue management and budget and resource allocation Stakeholder management, including the ability to influence and work with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds Act as the system owner and ensure compliance, integrity and policy alignment for the platform Lead incident response and ensure effective communication and timely resolution Effective communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills, contributing to a positive workplace culture Produce and contribute to high‑quality reporting, briefs, papers, and advice #J-18808-Ljbffr
