1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Team: The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s largest public hospital and the major provider of elective surgical care. The Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for complex anaesthesia patients and for trauma, burns, cardiac, neurosurgical, vascular and endovascular surgical sub‑specialties from North and North‑West Regional hospitals. The Surgical and Endoscopy Access Unit manages surgical waitlists, optimises peri‑operative flow and schedules and communicates all elective surgical operating sessions for RHH. The Role: The Surgical Access ANUM works with the Nurse Manager to plan and manage staff and resources day‑to‑day to ensure optimal patient care. The ANUM mentors staff, advises on care planning for patients on the elective surgery waitlist, and provides clinical leadership. A high level of clinical knowledge of patient flow and bed utilisation is required to support Surgical Access Nurses (SANs). The ANUM contributes to quality and safety activities, seeks opportunities for change and encourages staff involvement. You will need: Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative, and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in contemporary healthcare. Demonstrated ability to evaluate, innovate and develop services provided by the unit/service and review clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols. Details of appointment: Fixed‑term full‑time day‑worker, 76 hours per fortnight, for approximately twelve (12) months. Hours to be negotiated with successful applicant. For a period of twelve months from publication this selection process may also fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time and casual vacancies. Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution is included. Salary Packaging: Salary package includes living expenses up to $9,010, $2,650 in meal entertainment each year, and other eligible benefits. Carer accredited employer status – support for employees with caring responsibilities. Eligibility: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
