Work with and assist the Nurse Unit Manager in the shift-by-shift running and management of a dynamic fast‑paced medical surgical ward. An Associate Nurse Unit Manager at Mercy Health oversees the daily operations of a nursing unit, including staff supervision, patient care coordination, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. They collaborate with nurse unit managers and healthcare teams to maintain high‑quality patient care standards, resolve issues, and support the overall functioning of the unit. Be a professional role model and mentor cultivating a positive team environment Demonstrated a high standard of clinical knowledge, assessment skills and commitment to clinical excellence Have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with experience in managing difficult circumstances Engage with all key stakeholders to ensure the best clinical outcome and experience for patients and their families Demonstrated appetite for innovation and change while practicing within the Mercy core values What you'll bring Minimum 2 years recent experience on an acute ward in Australia (essential) Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment Ready to help us shape the future of healthcare?
