About Us Located just 150 kilometres south‑west of Melbourne at the foot of the Otway Ranges, near Lorne and the Surf Coast, Colac Area Health (CAH) serves a population of about 21,000 residents. CAH provides integrated health services that meet the needs of more than 30,000 people in the Corangamite, Colac Otway, and Surf Coast Shires, offering a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical services including Nursing/Midwifery, Aged Care, Medical, Community Services, Corporate Services, and Support Services. Responsibilities The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a valued member of the Nurse Leadership team, promoting a values‑based organisational culture. The ANUM supports the Nurse Unit Manager and is responsible for: Promoting a high standard of professional practice. Ensuring the delivery of effective clinical and organisational services. Managing emergency situations and providing leadership within the unit. Representing the department and organisation externally and internally. Requirements AHPRA Registered Nurse (current registration). Current nursing experience in an Acute Medical/Surgical setting. Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience, including management experience; recent ANUM or "in‑charge" roles. Exposure to the interpretation and application of awards and industrial agreements. Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office. Ability to organise work systematically, accurately, and timely, and to be flexible in a changing environment. Professional, friendly, team‑player disposition capable of representing the department and organisation effectively. Demonstrated skills in leadership and teamwork. Demonstrated ability to manage emergency situations. Current competency in defibrillation or ALS or equivalent; IV cannulation. Relevant tertiary qualifications or working toward the same.
