About the role The role of the Senior Review and Assessment Officer (SRAO) is to undertake the review and assessment of complex applications and produce comprehensive and accurate assessments in a timely manner. The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment, requiring a capacity to exercise sound judgement, and initiate effective and timely actions. Key accountabilities include: Undertake autonomous case management of applications and reassessments including working collaboratively with peers and colleagues to manage individual caseloads in a time sensitive environment, actioning and completing assessments in a timely manner. Review and analyse information, undertake sensitive investigations and critical analysis of information from a range of sources, prepare and write clear and concise briefings to the delegated decision maker. Briefs will be evidenced based, the SRAO will communicate risk clearly and maintain quality in the face of time pressure and make an objective recommendation on the individual's suitability to hold a Clearance. Undertake liaison with applicants, clearance holders, internal and external agencies to obtain relevant information to assist with the risk assessment of applications / reassessments. Maintains current knowledge of organisational and assessment specific processes, policies, guidelines various pieces legislation and regulations. Resolving issues through deep understanding and / or interpretation of existing processes, guidelines, policies and legislation. Where current advice is not available, analyses ideas available and acts through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems. If required, determine additional information needed to make informed decisions. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context. Complete all administrative tasks in a comprehensive and timely manners. Actively contribute to projects and initiatives that improve business processes and systems. About you To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: Demonstrated competence working with a range of legislation and applying it within an operational environment. Demonstrated knowledge of working with information of a sensitive nature and the application of relevant legislation and principles in regard to Confidentiality, Privacy and Freedom of Information. Demonstrated ability to make written, evidence-based recommendations by analysing complex information and the ability to communicate this clearly to a range of audiences. Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with organisational policy and processes in order to achieve consistent and desired outcomes.
