Continuing, Full Time Appointment | Position Commencing February 2026Teaching Focused Academic Level A/BAnnual salary $76,604 – $137,659 pa + 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leaveEducation City Precinct – Danala Campus | Larrakia Country About the Position As the Lecturer in Indigenous Futures, you will be involved in the delivery of units of study related to Indigenous knowledges and their contemporary expression in arts, creative and cultural competency, community engagement, land and sea management, policy and other related fields, utilising both on‑campus and on‑line flexible‑delivery methods. The successful applicant will engage in emerging scholarly work and research that informs teaching and learning practices in diverse educational contexts, with the potential to teach at degree and vocational levels, as well as in pathway programs. The Lecturer must hold or have made substantial progress towards completion of a relevant graduate or post‑graduate qualification and an emerging research profile in a relevant discipline. A background in working with Indigenous people in relevant contexts and in Indigenous‑led teaching, research and/or development implementation projects is required to achieve agreed outcomes for this position. The position of Lecturer in Indigenous Futures requires a successful candidate to possess the vision and energy to contribute through the development of high‑quality research and partnerships with educational programs as well a track record of relevant teaching experience, a developed understanding of the diverse contexts of the contemporary expression of Indigenous knowledges and established relations and contextual experience with Indigenous arts, creative and cultural competency, community engagement, land and sea management and/or Indigenous policy contexts would be an advantage. About You To be successful, you will require: Undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area or extensive experience in fields related to Indigenous knowledge and expressions of Indigenous knowledge in policy/land and sea management (or related) contexts, programs and projects. Recent teaching or professional experience in relevant Indigenous contexts and/or a teaching qualification or evidence of teaching experience and/or current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122). An emerging research profile of publications/research projects or progress towards a research plan in relevant discipline areas. Demonstrated strong communication with the capacity to develop, evaluate and maintain effective services to students and work collaboratively with teaching and support staff. Demonstrated ability to manage unit (subject) delivery in internal and online modes including through on‑line delivery platforms and learning management systems in relevant fields and an explicit understanding of the relevant teaching and learning practices engaged when working in intercultural knowledge contexts. Ability to communicate effectively with students at all levels and across cultures, and in particular, with Indigenous students, communities, and relevant agencies. Additional Key Selection Criteria at Level B Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area with extensive experience in fields related to Indigenous knowledge and expressions of Indigenous knowledge in policy/land and sea management (or related) contexts, programs, and projects. Recent teaching or professional experience in relevant Indigenous contexts and/or a teaching qualification or evidence of teaching experience and/or current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122). An emerging research profile of publications/research projects or progress towards a research plan. Ability to contribute to the development of units/courses and student resources in response to reflective practice and application of scholarship (including for online and face‑to‑face teaching) and within the context and requirements of a quality education provider. Excellent professional teamwork and communication skills, including oral, written, information communication technology (ICT) and interpersonal skills. Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check, NT Working with Children clearance and the ability to travel to regional and remote locations. It is a requirement of the position for the occupier to hold a current NT driver’s licence. Remuneration Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level A/B. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 - $137,659 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89,626 - $161,061 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation.
