About the Position Charles Darwin University invites applications for the role of Lecturer in Indigenous Knowledges – Language & Culture Education. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic teaching and research goals of the Faculty of Arts and Society and the First Nations Teacher Education Hub by delivering high‑quality education, advancing research in Indigenous Knowledge and Education, and fostering strong partnerships with First Nation communities. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality education in Indigenous Knowledge and Language & Culture programs within the Faculty of Arts and Society. Advance research in Indigenous Knowledge and Education. Lead initiatives that support the development and delivery of innovative programs through the First Nations Teacher Education Hub. Contribute to curriculum development and community engagement, ensuring that offerings are culturally responsive and aligned with the needs and aspirations of First Nation communities. Develop and manage unit (subject) teaching in internal and distance education modes, including online platforms. Qualifications Higher Degree by Research or Equivalent Master’s (or professional experience) in a relevant discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of current Indigenous social, cultural, political, and economic issues, particularly in Indigenous education locally, nationally, and internationally. Capacity to work collaboratively and independently under pressure. Emerging research profile with publications or progress toward a research plan. Commitment to undertake research related to Indigenous Knowledge and Education. Strong interpersonal, communication, and equity program skills, supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Proficiency in digital literacies development and practices in education. Capability to develop curriculum using the Australian Qualifications Framework and create 21st‑century learning experiences for higher education students. Experience working with First Nations Language and Culture Education in the NT. Remuneration The position is at Academic Level B. The base salary is $116,429–$137,659 per annum, with total remuneration ranging from $136,221 to $161,061 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation. Benefits Up to six weeks of paid annual leave. Up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave (primary caregiver). Recognition of prior service with another Australian university or NT Government for Long Service Leave.
