Parks Maintenance Crew Member Join to apply for the Parks Maintenance Crew Member role at Yarra Ranges Council Base pay range A$35.68/hr - A$37.08/hr About the role As a Parks Maintenance Crew Member at Yarra Ranges Council, you will play a vital role in maintaining our beautiful open spaces. These hands‑on positions involve regular and routine maintenance activities across our reserves and streetscapes. You’ll be part of the Parks, Trees and Trails team, working independently with a diverse set of horticultural and grass maintenance skills. Our team operates tractors, commercial ride‑on mowing equipment and associated small‑plant, undertakes streetscape maintenance and ensures compliance with Council and community standards. Your work will directly contribute to the presentation, health and enjoyment of our open spaces across the Yarra Ranges. There are 3 Parks Maintenance Crew Member positions currently available: 1x full‑time permanent position utilising small horticultural maintenance equipment (38 hours per week) 1x 6‑month temporary full‑time position operating truck trailer and ride‑on mower (38 hours per week) 1x 9‑month part‑time fixed term position operating a tractor (Tuesday and Thursdays each week) These are Band 3 roles with an hourly rate between $35.68 and $37.08 per hour, plus superannuation. Experience and skills we’re looking for Victorian Drivers Licence Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to achieve shared goals. Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism. Follow established procedures and proactively address quality or safety issues. The ability to complete accurate documentation including work programmes, timesheets, and customer service records. Experience in maintaining open space assets through mowing, planting, weeding, pruning, litter collection and minor landscaping. Understanding of landscape and open space maintenance techniques. Proficiency in selecting, operating, and maintaining parks maintenance equipment. Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
