Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to deliver mechanical maintenance, breakdown response, and plant reliability support in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. This role operates within a large‑scale production site featuring modern automation and complex mechanical systems. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, prioritising safe work practices and proactive maintenance to keep equipment running at peak performance. The role offers a hands‑on environment where your technical skills and problem‑solving abilities will be valued, with ongoing opportunities for development and career progression. Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday – 06:00 – 14:00ORMonday – Friday | 14:00 – 22:00 – 20% Loading Weekly Overtime Average of 10 hours Overtime throughout the week – First 3 hours x1.5 and DT after that Huge further earning potential throughout the weekSaturdays 2 Saturdays per month required to workAverage 5 hour shift – DOUBLE TIME for all hours – Huge further earning potential every other Saturday Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and breakdown response across plant and production equipment. Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities. Collaborate closely with electrical trades and production teams to diagnose and resolve faults. Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and CMMS updates. Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards. Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities. Candidate Requirements Trade-qualified Fitter or Mechanical Technician with relevant industry experience. Experience working in manufacturing, packaging, food or similar automated environments. Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills. Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary maintenance team. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and safety. Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation preferred.
