Learn more at The Opportunities We are seeking two dedicated professionals to join our Operations Team: Groundskeeper Responsible for the upkeep and presentation of our school grounds. General Hand Assisting with a variety of maintenance tasks and grounds support. Both roles will primarily service our north-west Sydney schools (Tangara School for Girls, Cherrybrook and Redfield College, Dural) and occasionally support projects at our Western Sydney schools (Montgrove College, Orchard Hills and Wollemi College, Werrington). As you will work in an environment with teachers, students, and visitors, all tasks must be carried out safely, professionally, and with attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Maintaining school grounds: mowing (ride-on and robotic), edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and ensuring gardens, lawns, playgrounds, and sports fields are neat and presentable. Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems for efficient water use. Coordinating seasonal turf care: fertilising, aerating, topdressing, rolling, dethatching, and pest/disease treatment. Performing or coordinating line marking for sports fields and tracks, and setting up/removing goalposts and equipment for school events. Operating and maintaining grounds equipment safely, reporting faults promptly. Keeping paved areas and pathways clear of weeds, litter, and debris through spraying, sweeping, and blowing. Assisting with general site maintenance: pothole repairs, concreting, paver upkeep, and minor building repairs. Liaising with contractors and suppliers for specialised works (e.g., tree maintenance, pest control). Identifying and reporting safety issues to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards. Supporting school operations by moving and storing outdoor equipment for events. Performing other duties as required to maintain safe, clean, and functional facilities. About You Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, particularly regarding WHS. A valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle. Confidence and experience using hand and power tools for grounds and general maintenance. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, tradespeople, and suppliers. Proven experience in grounds maintenance and site upkeep. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Basic technology skills to respond to requests via our maintenance system. Required: current NSW Working with Children Check.
