A rare and exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced Financial Controller to join the Senior Management team of a family-owned civil contractor located on the Sunshine Coast. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is to provide financial guidance, reporting and strategy for the company to ensure the viability of the organisation and for its projects. The position ensures a challenging mix of tasks associated with management accounting. The role would ideally suit a well-rounded Candidate who would value‑add to a very friendly and team‑orientated group of high‑performing managers, while enjoying the rewards of building on some already solid foundations that have been established. Duties Day‑to‑day financial activities, reporting to company Director on the condition of company accounts; Managing business financial systems and processes, including preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flows and the monthly claims process; Maintaining a framework to accommodate timesheets, receipts, invoices, and purchase orders for seamless business practices, while maintaining financial ledgers and accounting processes; Analysis of the viability of the organisation and project activity accounting for subcontractor arrangements, plant & equipment, materials and other project company overheads; Company budgeting and forecasting, annual report, financial auditing. Preparation of Monthly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet; Conduct financial analysis to identify the efficiency and effectiveness of business activities, as well as the profitability/contribution of business units; Office management of the wider accounts and administration team; Ability to work in conjunction with Key Stakeholders both internally and externally; Participate within the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and ISO9001 requirements. Skills Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Management Accountant/Financial Controller role (or similar) in a fast-paced environment; Efficient with Microsoft Packages: Excel, Outlook and Word, as well as MYOB (Essential); additional exposure to alternate accounting software and the ability to introduce new systems to drive efficiency; Ability to comprehend contract information, and demonstrate excellent communication skills (written & verbal); High attention to detail; Rapport building skills and ability to multi task.
