Policy Manager The College of Law is seeking a Policy Manager to design and implement a robust policy framework that supports governance across academic and corporate functions in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. About The Role Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer & Company Secretary, you will lead the development, review, and implementation of policies that meet regulatory requirements and align with organisational strategy. This is a hands‑on role where you will conduct gap analyses, influence stakeholders, and ensure policies are clear, robust, compliant, and accessible. You will review the effectiveness of policies with stakeholders and make recommendations for improvement. You will also play a key role in embedding governance culture across the College of Law – training teams, enabling ownership, and introducing digital tools for policy management. In This Pivotal Role You Will Develop and maintain a well-functioning policy framework across multiple jurisdictions Conduct gap analysis and identify opportunities for improvement Draft, review, and format policies to ensure clarity, compliance, and brand consistency Support business units in policy ownership while providing expert guidance Investigate and implement document control systems and policy software Train and educate staff on governance and compliance Monitor policy implementation and address gaps or breaches Prepare reports for senior leadership, committees and Boards Explore responsible AI use and develop supporting procedures Who You Are You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives on autonomy and continuous improvement. You bring integrity, diplomacy, and a collaborative mindset, with the confidence to influence and enable change across College of Law campuses in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualifications in Law, Public Policy, Business or a related discipline (Masters preferred). Desirable certification: Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management or equivalent Experience in Education or other regulatory and legislative environments e.g. health and aged care Demonstrated experience in policy management, drafting and compliance Strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail Proven ability to influence and manage stakeholders for collaboration and training Familiarity with SharePoint and risk and compliance software Understanding of regulatory frameworks (data, cyber, privacy) Professionalism, accountability, and a collaborative mindset Personality fit Trustworthy, open, and transparent Self-starter who looks for opportunities to improve, not maintain the status quo Comfortable in a close-knit, collaborative team culture Why Join The College of Law This is a newly created role with the opportunity to shape governance frameworks and make a lasting impact.
