Management - Universities (Education & Training)Lead the Student Management System reviewDevelop & execute a comprehensive project planLead and inspire a skilled teamAbout our clientAs one of Australia’s largest, this Victorian-based University has strong global linkages, world-class research, and an education portfolio that blends the best of campus and digital delivery into a highly supportive and personalised student experience.About the opportunityYou’ll lead the Student Management System program of work, assess current and future system requirements, and implement appropriate solutions to meet the current and future needs of the University. This will include the following responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and inspire a skilled team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment, providing vision, guidance and support for the project team.Oversee the end-to-end review of the Student Management System, including system capabilities, compliance, infrastructure, architecture, data protection and user requirements.Investigate the current and future state of the Student Management System, focusing on data governance and strategic improvements.Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan aligned with The Institution’s strategic goals and enterprise future state, including timelines and resource allocations.Lead a project team to implement system enhancements, ensure alignment with business and digital implications, prepare regular progress reports, and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends and opportunities for system enhancement.Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners for stakeholder management, contract negotiations, and implementation oversight.Gather feedback and requirements from diverse user groups and business owners to inform system improvements.Collaborate with stakeholders across the University to gather insights, identify pain points, and prioritise improvement opportunities.Represent the Student Services division in executive-level discussions, presenting key findings and business cases for approval.Monitor the external higher education landscape to ensure the relevance and continual evolution of programmes, systems, and processes.About youWe are seeking motivated professionals with:Extensive experience developing and implementing contemporary solutions, strategies, and services for large organisations.Strong project management skills, including agile methodologies (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project), research, report writing, and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders fostering collaboration for shared outcomes.Proven leadership and resource management skills, with the ability to build high-performance teams, lead change, and work independently within broad objectives.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of synthesising data into actionable insights and navigating complex issues.A strong understanding of enterprise systems, including architecture, functionality, and integration capabilities, and strategic analysis to inform future direction.The ability to manage ambiguity, balance priorities and resources, and inspire results through strategic planning and leadership.Preferred experience leading Student Management Systems, or similar large-scale customer management systems.The University offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement and remuneration commensurate with the seniority of the role.
