Project Manager - Critical Incident Response ) The Department of Health Tasmania’s Emergency Preparedness and Response team is responsible for ensuring the health system can effectively manage and respond to critical incidents, emergencies, and disasters. This includes planning, coordination, and integration of health services during crises to maintain continuity of care and safeguard public health. This newly created position is critical to ensure effective incident response after incidents in our health care system and to develop a system of support for our staff. This role will contribute to the minimisation of harm, psychosocial impact, and ensuring the health system remains functional. It directly supports public safety, operational continuity, and community confidence in the health system. The Role The Project Manager – Critical Incident Response (CIR) is responsible for developing a support protocol for staff affected by critical incidents and occupational violence and aggression. This includes developing an aligned training program provided by Safety and Support Supervisors. The incumbent will provide high‑level specialist analysis, expertise and authoritative advice regarding strategic and policy issues impacting safety, security and quality. You will need to: Project management for the development of a Critical Incident Response process. Provide leadership, direction, support, and facilitation of assigned projects, including the implementation of strategic project initiatives and coordinating reporting and accountability processes. Provide high level specialist expertise to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of operational policies, procedures and protocols for the efficient and effective establishment, management, and evaluation of staff support functions, in collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer. Details of appointment Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 13 November 2028. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
