Auto & General Australia is seeking an experienced Manager Controls to shape and uplift how we manage controls across the business. The role will lead key control initiatives, strengthen our control environment, and ensure our frameworks are consistently applied and effective. Position Accountabilities Oversee and enhance dashboards and reporting to track control health and priorities. Analyse control, testing, and issue / action data for executive and CRO reporting. Partner with Line 1 teams to improve control practices and drive continuous improvement. Guide teams on the Control Standard and ensure compliance. Review incidents and actions to confirm root causes and gaps are addressed. Lead QA activities to ensure control testing meets standards. Report assurance outcomes to senior stakeholders. Develop and deliver training to uplift control management capabilities. Act as an SME for operational risk and compliance, supporting risk culture uplift. What Experience You'll Bring Strong knowledge of risk / control frameworks, regulatory expectations, and assurance methodologies. Experience with GRC platforms and turning data into insights. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex information. Leadership experience mentoring or guiding others. Experience in general insurance or regulated industries (highly desirable). Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience preparing risk / assurance reporting for senior or Board-level audiences. Collaborative mindset and ability to build trusted relationships. Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. A degree in business, finance, risk, technology, law, or related field; post‑grad or certifications a plus.
