WHS Officer - Warehouse Project Join to apply for the WHS Officer - Warehouse Project role at Perigon Group. Immediate-start contract position focused on identifying potential safety hazards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing actionable strategies to create a safe working environment. Immediate start - initial 3 month contract Based near Croydon Park - parking on-site Circa $60-70 per hour + super Role Conduct thorough safety audits of the new warehouse facility, including layout, equipment, storage systems, and operational workflows. Identify potential hazards related to material handling, machinery, fire safety, emergency exits, and general working conditions. Review and assess compliance with relevant OH&S legislation, regulations, and industry standards. Develop a detailed safety action plan with prioritised recommendations and implementation timelines. Collaborate with warehouse management and staff to understand operational processes and safety concerns. Prepare comprehensive written reports documenting findings, risks, and corrective measures. Provide guidance on safety training requirements for warehouse personnel. Recommend necessary signage, PPE, and safety equipment. Ensure proper documentation of all safety procedures and protocols. About You Relevant safety qualification (Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent). Proven experience in warehouse or logistics safety management is essential. Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and standards. Experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines. Strong communication skills to engage with staff at all levels. Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. Experience with warehouse relocation or new facility setup. Knowledge of forklift operations, racking systems, and material handling safety.
