Co-ordinator, Family & Domestic Violence (FDV) Programs Mens Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation – Broome WA 1 x Co-ordinator, Family & Domestic Violence (FDV) Programs Change Em Ways (Broome) and Dijun Way YoungN Deadly About the role An exciting opportunity is now available for a Family Domestic Violence (FDV) practitioner to work within our popular men’s behaviour change program, Change Em Ways (CEW) Broome, and our Primary Prevention program, Dijun Way YoungN Deadly. The position and programs are based in Broome, with occasional overnight travel required. A fixed term contract is available to 31st December 2026, with possibility of extension. Responsibilities Support the leadership and co‑facilitation of two popular FDV programs - CEW Broome, an Indigenous men’s behaviour change program, and Dijun Way YoungN Deadly, a primary prevention program for young people aged 12–18. Conduct intake and risk assessments upon receiving referrals in line with program requirements, and provide guidance and support to other team members completing these assessments. Lead good practice and case management within the team, and engage in ongoing professional development including regular supervision with the Team Leader. Liaise with other members of the Change Em Ways team, including the MOSAC Cultural Reference Group to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that team practice is culturally secure, in the Kimberley Indigenous context. Facilitate regular team de‑briefs and reflective practice sessions with team members at the end of each workshop day, under the guidance of the Team Leader. Collect data to assist in the evaluation processes, including feedback from those who use FDV, their (ex) partners and other family/community members and young people. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the programs and continuous improvement in service delivery. Qualifications Diploma in Community Services (or relevant field). Extensive experience in Family Domestic Violence (FDV) work. Experience in group program facilitation. Ability to work with Indigenous people. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong time management, planning and organisation skills. Requirements and relevant information Applicants must hold a ‘C’ class driver’s license with no restrictions. Overnight travel is a requirement of this role. Aboriginal applicants are strongly encouraged to apply Selection criteria Knowledge of, and experience in program and service delivery to a diverse range of participants within a human services setting - particularly in the areas of family domestic violence. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture and the ability to apply cultural knowledge and sensitivities in an operational setting. Demonstrated experience and completed training to apply the concepts and principles of Indigenous family domestic violence interventions within a culturally safe, strength based, trauma informed framework which promotes safety, accountability, responsibility and respect. Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, working successfully with Aboriginal staff and to participate in reflective practice sessions. Experience in liaising with stakeholders to improve service delivery and outcomes. Ability to use or complete training in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
