We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, great opportunities for advancement, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, time‑off, and 401K with a great company match) Shift 3AM -12PM Responsibilities Maintain a fully staffed and fully trained delivery team that runs well, meets metrics consistently, and consistently performs at high levels of service while remaining compliant. Hire all team members, ensuring all pre‑employment checks are completed and meet requirements; coordinate new hire paperwork, schedule new hire training, monitor completion, coach where needed, review new hires to ensure they meet requirements of the 90‑day training period, and conduct a formal meeting to review 90‑day performance. Review delivery metrics on a daily/weekly basis: customer service/delivery execution, payroll % sales, miles per delivery, planned vs. actual. Look for improvements in scheduling and routing that positively impact metrics and dollars spent. Monitor driver hours daily so that all drivers and routes stay in compliance with the FMCSR and DOT regulations. Collaborate with Delivery Management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local DOT guidelines. Confirm that employee files are current and include driver training, road‑test drivers checklist, annual evaluations, abstracts, driver history, etc. Ensure all required driver training and education is provided and documented in compliance with all applicable regulations. Drive Samsara corrective actions. Monitor CSA scores for the location. Maintain DOT Accident Register and monitor Samsara. Own driver rehire process and maintain up‑to‑date payroll/time records; adjust time records as needed, hold teams accountable for clocking in and out, and handle temp scanning and extra pay records. Lead the Delivery Safety Committee—work with the team to review safety concerns, develop new processes to reduce risk, train employees on safety topics, and work closely with the Corporate Safety team to drive a culture of safety and engage employees. Oversee truck accident investigations, work with the insurance company and Fleet Safety Manager to get trucks repaired and back on the road quickly. Own the delivery team retention/turnover strategy—ensure regular touch‑bases, engagement activities, incentives, and strong employee relations. Preside or assist in the preparation of various audits: regulatory federal, state, third‑party, and direct company audits/inspections. Conduct monthly check‑ins with each driver, debriefing as necessary, consolidating issues, and creating plans to “solve for” the lead concerns for drivers. Own the Junior Training Program—decide on participants, conduct 15/25/40‑day check‑ins, and conduct final certification for graduation, working closely with the Fleet Safety Manager to build a new group of drivers. Create daily/weekly/monthly communication plans for the delivery team. Ensure 100% EPOD compliance through day‑to‑day coaching and corrective action. Manage the entire delivery operation daily/weekly/monthly—regular touch‑bases to keep the management team aligned. Quarterly review revenue and business with GM, create staffing plans to match business needs, create requisitions for open/new roles, and work with the staffing team to maintain full staffing. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to build, train, engage, and lead large teams. Minimum of 7 years in fleet supervisory/transportation role. Knowledge of FMCSR, DOT compliance, food regulation, and food safety. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare reports and maintain department policies and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook and tech savvy with Samsara, First Advantage, EPOD, etc. Requirements From time to time, the position will require accompanying a delivery team on a route; expected to meet the following requirements: Ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly. Ability to respond quickly to sounds. Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. Ability to see well at night and drive in the dark. 21 years of age or older. 7+ years in delivery management role. Must be able to work nights and weekends as dictated by the business (expected 3AM start). Food Authority currently makes deliveries Sunday Night through Friday Night. Drivers must be 21 years of age. Drivers must have a minimum of 1 year’s driving experience in the last 3 years. Drivers must have a current driver’s license and current DOT medical card. No more than two (2) minor moving violations in 36 months. No more than one accident in the last 36 months. No major violations in the last 36 months. No more than one suspension related to driving performance in the last 36 months.
