Join to apply for the Director (Commercial Management) role at Department of Transport and Main Roads . Overview We are seeking a Director (Commercial Management) to join our team based in Brisbane. The purpose of the Director (Commercial Management) is to lead the Commercial Management team in providing consistent estimating, schedule governance, and proactive claims and dispute resolution to support commercially informed decision making and delivery certainty. Responsibilities You will lead the Commercial Management team across a diverse range of cost management matters supporting Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) delivery. You will be responsible for developing and sustaining positive relationships across the Commercial Management team, PMD Branch and our diverse customer base. Qualifications Proven ability to lead teams, execute strategic initiatives, and translate vision into actionable plans while inspiring teams to achieve organisational goals. Comprehensive knowledge of commercial management practices across infrastructure project lifecycle including cost estimation, scheduling, contract administration and risk management to ensure delivery certainty and value for money. Experienced in managing complex commercial negotiations, fostering strong relationships, and driving collaborative, customer-focused outcomes with external providers and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of governance, procurement best practices, and regulatory compliance, ensuring financial risk management and adherence to high standards across programs and partnerships.
