Apply for the Mechanical Fitter – Maintenance role at Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) . Sydney Water partners with D4C to deliver, design, construct, maintain and manage facilities across the Southern Region of Sydney. D4C is a consortium of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. What we are looking for A Maintenance Fitter will join our teams in Bondi. Your day‑to‑day activities include performing planned and reactive maintenance across our region. Minimum qualifications and requirements An Australian recognised trade certificate A valid Australian driver’s licence Physical fitness to perform manual work Conditions Hourly rate $51.72 plus an additional $2 for work at the Treatment Plant Afternoon shift paid at 15% plus an on‑call allowance of $111 per day (one on‑call in eight weeks) Asset types requiring maintenance may include Chemical dosing equipment experience Wastewater and water pumping stations and associated equipment Low‑pressure and vacuum systems Mixers, blowers, gearboxes, skimmers, actuators and valves Generator maintenance servicing and connections during outages Wastewater treatment plants Day‑to‑day responsibilities (Operations Maintenance team) Accountable for safely conducting your role within D4C and Sydney Water’s safety, compliance, and environmental policies Perform planned maintenance, ensuring plant and equipment compliance and safety Respond to equipment faults on shift Conduct regular inspections, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement Fault‑finding and rectification, including reporting and record maintenance Installation and testing of new equipment General day‑to‑day maintenance activities Skills looked favourable Pump maintenance Hydraulics and pneumatics Welding PRV experience Understanding and application of leading policies and procedures Troubleshoot/fault‑finding experience Doggedness Truck licence Operational information Permanent, full‑time role, Monday to Friday, day shift starting at 7 am Favourable hourly rate, plus shift penalties, allowances and overtime One week every eight weeks – afternoon shift starting at 3:30 pm with an on‑call component and weekend roster Leave entitlements, rostered days off (RDO) and benefits We welcome and encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQIA+, people with disability, people with caring responsibilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and veterans.
