Mount Coolum Day Care Centre is on the lookout for a dedicated and creative cook to join our team. As part of our centre, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our children by preparing nutritious and delicious meals that fuel their learning and growth. What You’ll Be Doing: Plan and Prepare Meals: Create and cook healthy, balanced, and child-friendly meals in line with dietary guidelines and individual needs. Create Excitement: Design appealing and varied menus that encourage children to enjoy nutritious foods. Ensure Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food allergies and special dietary requirements. Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the educators to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and contribute to children’s social and emotional development. What We’re Looking For: Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Experience in a similar role, preferably within an early learning or child care setting. Knowledge of safe food handling practices and relevant qualifications (Food Safety Certificate). A passion for creating nutritious meals for children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
