Radiographer Level 4 Grade 2 – Ultrasound Section Manager Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until November 2026 Position Classification: Radiographer Level 4 Grade 2 Remuneration: $75.53 - $77.39 per hour plus superannuation Hours Per Week: 30 Hours Requisition ID: REQ Location: The Sutherland Hospital, Caringbah Applications Close: Sunday, 23 November 2025 About the Role A temporary 4‑day a week Ultrasound Senior Radiographer/Sonographer position is available to cover 40 weeks of extended leave commencing in February 2026. The Medical Imaging Department has a full range of imaging modalities including general, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, angiography, CT, MRI and ultrasound. The successful applicant will oversee the daily operational requirements and training of the ultrasound modality area which has 4 US systems. What You'll Be Doing Oversee day‑to‑day operational requirements, orientation and training of medical radiation scientists and other health professionals to the clinical specialty. Ensure workflow to maximise throughput and utilisation within the work area, maintaining and developing imaging protocols relevant to the modality area. Ensure strong and effective communication between staff, patients and referrers to ensure a smooth and efficient service. Accountable for the maintenance of high standards of imaging under the direction of the Medical Imaging Manager, Assistant Chief MRS and relevant Staff Specialist. Selection Criteria Degree in Medical Radiation Technology or equivalent; extensive clinical experience or post‑graduate qualification in US with MSK imaging expertise is an advantage. Holder of NSW EPA Radiation Licence and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Accredited sonographer via ASAR if performing ultrasound duties. Evidence of strong and empowering leadership skills, motivation, advocacy and conflict resolution with staff liaison skills. Extensive knowledge, expertise and experience within specialised area including procedures and associated imaging equipment. Ability to instruct MRS (radiographers and/or sonographers), undergraduates and other health workers in techniques appropriate to the equipment being used and procedures. Experience and knowledge of Radiology Information, PACS, Hospital Information System, Incident Management Systems and other general computer applications. Ability to organise workload to ensure staff and equipment are utilised efficiently and effectively; strong verbal and written communication, team building, liaison and negotiation skills. Willingness to maintain and pursue personal educational development.
