Your Team You will be part of a small and highly regarded Group Legal Team, working alongside experienced lawyers on corporate and financial services matters, with a strong focus on commercial contract review and strategic legal advisory. Your Role As a key member of a highly regarded Legal team, you will report into and work closely with the General Counsel on corporate and financial services matters, focusing on commercial contract review. You will assist in providing specialist and tailored legal advice to support the strategic and operational objectives of the business. Your duties and responsibilities Provide legal advice and guidance to the company on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues of importance to the business. Support the General Counsel in advising the Board, Executive Leadership Team and Senior Management on strategic legal matters, providing proactive legal support and advice for business initiatives and projects. Assist in the preparation of board and committee reporting requirements relevant to the legal function. Supervise and mentor members of the Legal team, providing guidance on complex legal matters. Identify and mitigate legal risks for Group entities, including creating and maintaining best practice standards, templates, document repositories and appropriate retention of data. About You Demonstrated experience in General corporate and commercial matters, providing legal advice to internal teams on contractual and other legal risk matters. Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating autonomously a range of commercial contracts including technology agreements (IT MSAs, Licensing Agreements), consulting agreements, supplier service agreements and NDAs. Financial Services Laws experience favorable (including Insurance Contracts Act and Chapter 7 Corporations Act). Strong ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels and display strong business judgement and analysis. Good research skills with ability to access current and correct legal information (cases, legislation and articles) with a strong attention to detail.
