Men's Domestic Violence Intervention Worker & Program Facilitator The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC) is a specialist service that supports women, young people and children who have experienced domestic and family violence. We also deliver the Men's DV Education and Intervention program and convene an Integrated Response group that works with agencies on the Gold Coast to improve collaboration and responses to victim survivors of domestic violence to enhance their safety and wellbeing. About the role As the Men’s Domestic Violence Intervention Worker and Program Facilitator, you will work with men to address their behaviours, beliefs and attitudes that cause harm in their relationships. This position will work individually with men to assess their suitability for participation in the group program, provide information regarding the court process and outcomes, and make referrals to appropriate agencies. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility for extension. To be successful you will have: Have a strong interest or experience in working with men who have exhibited harmful behaviours in relationships. Understand domestic and family violence from a gendered perspective, prioritising the safety of women and children. Be able to assess and respond to risk, including crisis situations, with professionalism and care. Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and a range of community and system stakeholders. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including documenting case notes and preparing reports. Maintain emotional resilience and self-awareness while working in challenging situations. Responsibilities Work with men individually and in group settings to address behaviours, beliefs, and attitudes that cause harm. Assess men’s suitability for participation in the program and provide information about court processes and outcomes. Co-facilitate group programs based on the Duluth Curriculum and manage waitlists as required (professional development will be provided if you do not have experience with group facilitation). Engage with community and system stakeholders to develop positive working relationships and support coordinated responses. Make appropriate referrals to other services and advocate for additional support where needed.
