Our aim is to empower women, children and families through a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based model, to develop their capacity to move through crisis and homelessness. Often clients present with complex needs and we work with other services to provide a coordinated approach. Key responsibilities and expectations include: Provide trauma‑informed support to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of women in crisis, holding a relevant qualification (e.g. Community Services Diploma, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Social Work). Maintain extensive knowledge of community resources and services relevant to women escaping domestic violence, experiencing homelessness, and those with mental health, offending or substance use issues. Work within Professional Practice and Ethical Decision‑Making Frameworks. Demonstrate ability to manage conflict, de‑escalate situations and engage in difficult conversations. Work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations. Use IT systems, including databases and cloud‑based technologies, with high proficiency. Communicate clearly and professionally in verbal, written and case documentation (report writing, case plans, case notes). Transfer learning, skills and knowledge from prior education and training to meet role requirements. Prioritise tasks, manage time and multitask in a crisis setting, responding calmly and organised during emergencies. Position is casual with day, afternoon and, on occasions, sleepover shifts. Shifts may include lone worker responsibilities. Sleepover Shifts Sleepover shifts commence at the assigned time and resume the following day. Sleepover workers are provided with a secure separate room, bed, clean linen, and access to food preparation and bathroom facilities. Workers are paid for hours worked before and after the sleepover, along with sleepover allowances and extra payments for disturbances, as per the SCHADS Award.
