We support individuals with the help of family, community, and cultural connections. Our goal is to help parents and carers create safe and nurturing homes, so that children feel safe, connected, happy and healthy. We’re looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team. This is a Case Management role, and the successful applicant will be providing services to families with complex needs. To be successful in the role, you need to understand how intergenerational trauma effects families and communities, and to be able to work through the challenging behaviours that our clients may present with. Other requirements include computer skills, oral and written communication skills and being able to work as part of a team. What is most important to us though is that you are someone who cares, who is genuine, and who treats every client and coworker with professionalism and respect. What we offer We are offering an attractive salary, along with access to salary sacrificing benefits, accommodation allowance and 11.5% Superannuation. Centacare also offers 5 weeks Annual Leave & 13 Days Personal leave. The hours of employment are 38 hours per week which can include overnight travel to Derby. We offer monthly supervision, weekly team meetings, and the Family Support Services team is rolling out a monthly training calendar for upskilling the team as a professional development opportunity. We encourage our staff to consider studying tertiary qualifications, and to learn through experience. Connection is important to us as a team and can look like a shared coffee in the mornings, a team lunch on a Friday, or just taking a moment to work on a project together with the radio playing. Essential Qualifications Experience work with families within social services sector. Ability to work in collaborative partnerships with State Government agencies. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people from across the Kimberley region, especially within a remote setting. Effective communication and people engagement skills and ability to develop professional relationships with marginalised and at-risk families. Demonstrated capacity to provide structured case managed support, and the ability to keep relevant case notes and record service information. Ability to positively work as a team member. Ability to work within a Catholic ethos Experience working within program guidelines and organizational policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to use a computer and the Microsoft group of programs. Provide a current National Police Clearance and "Working with Children Check Clearance." Desirable Qualifications A qualification in a relevant social or human services field of study.
