At Hope Community Services, we support young people across regional WA to make positive changes and live safer, more hopeful lives. In partnership with Youth Justice Services (YJS), we operate a Bail Facility for young people on bail who are unable to stay with a responsible adult. We also coordinate a Community Mentoring Program, providing consistent, supportive relationships for young people on YJS orders. Our team is committed to trauma‑informed, culturally safe, and strengths‑based practice. We work closely with Aboriginal community‑controlled organisations, local service providers, and regional stakeholders to deliver meaningful support for young people. About the Role We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Youth Justice Coordinator to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Youth Bail Service and Community Mentoring Program. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee a small team of dedicated staff, work closely with Youth Justice Services, and ensure the delivery of safe, responsive, and effective services for young people. You’ll also play a key role in developing strong partnerships across the community and contributing to the wellbeing and development of young people with complex needs. Key responsibilities include: Managing referrals, intake, and case coordination for young people in bail or mentoring programs Leading and supervising a team of Residential Support Workers and Youth Mentors Coordinating tailored daily programs for young people staying in the Bail Facility Supporting Community Mentors and partner agencies to deliver culturally safe mentoring services Attending Youth Justice case meetings and stakeholder forums Ensuring all client data, reports and documentation are accurate and meet contractual requirements Supporting community partnerships and representing HOPE in local and regional meetings Maintaining service coverage through forward planning, rostering, and staff support What’s on Offer Full‑time, permanent role based in Geraldton WA Salary: $100,776.00 + super + regional allowance Salary packaging up to $15,900.00 to boost your take‑home pay Ongoing training and professional development opportunities Supportive team culture and a role with meaningful community impact You’ll Need A qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, AOD, or similar 3+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of qualifications and experience Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and supporting staff Knowledge of Youth Justice, and experience supporting young people with complex needs Cultural competence and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal young people Excellent communication, administration, and organisational skills Confidence managing crisis situations and working within professional boundaries Current WA driver’s licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance (within 3 months), and Department of Justice Clearance (we apply for this, which can take up to 6 weeks to process) Next Steps If you're shortlisted, we’ll give you a call to discuss your experience and may invite you to an interview (in person or online).
