As our Youth Justice Programs Worker, you’ll walk alongside young people to help them make positive choices, build confidence, and create their own path forward. Working across the Youth Justice Community Support Service (YJCSS) and Youth Justice Group Conferencing (YJGC) programs, you’ll provide practical support, and coaching to help young people reconnect with their community, strengthen life skills, and re-engage in education, training, or employment. You’ll also support restorative conversations and activities that help young people understand the impact of their actions, rebuild relationships, and take meaningful steps toward their goals. This ongoing, full-time role offers an opportunity to be part of a passionate, values-driven team making a genuine difference in young people’s lives. We’re looking for someone with strong, relevant experience and qualifications above Certificate IV level who’s ready to bring their skills and passion to this role. The position also requires attendance at biannual training in Melbourne to support your ongoing professional growth and connection with state-wide practice networks. Do your skills include... Demonstrated ability to engage, coach and mentor young people and families from diverse backgrounds, particularly those involved with Children’s Court, to work towards improved outcomes, opportunities and social connections. Knowledge of service responses and interventions that can promote behaviour change and impact positively on young people’s development. A sound knowledge and understanding of restorative justice and group conferencing principles. Previous experience in facilitating group work programs. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation relevant to the role, case management practice, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures. Qualifications / Credentials A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Welfare or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: ie AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.). A current Drivers Licence.
