Workshop Controller

Due to an internal promotion, Bendigo Truck Centre is looking for a workshop controller to join our already successful workshop team. For the right candidate, this role is available immediately. The Workshop controller is responsible for looking after a team of technicians and providing sufficient guidance to enable them to carry out a high standard of repairs and service. To be successful - the candidate MUST have a background in mechanical repairs - preferably truck repairs, a strong technical / diagnostic knowledge, fantastic leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills & amazing time management skills. In order to perform this role effectively you MUST have previously been a qualified technician- (preferably Heavy Diesel) as the role requires you to technically communicate with customers and assist your technicians. You will also need to test drive trucks from time to time & therefore a heavy vehicle driver's licence will be eventually required (if you don't have one already). an attractive base salary , weekly car allowance, monthly gross based bonus + super . If you are a go getter, can demonstrate your abilities, have professional references to back you up, are known as hard worker, company minded, have command skills, and can talk to customers and are proud of the outcomes you can produce then this is your job. Your average day will typically include: Holding a morning 'pump up' meeting with the techs whereby you delegate the work for the day. Throughout the day monitor each technician’s progress closely & assist where required to meet Managing workshop productivity and efficiency Check and verify parts required before handing to Service advisor to gain approval from customer & then seek P&A & monitor closely to avoid unnecessary delays Advising customers on minor or major technical problems Build exceptional internal & external customer relationships Maintaining high levels of customer service from all areas of the client journey Quote jobs for service advisors to sell parts & labour hours Ensuring good housekeeping in the workshop to minimise any potential OH&S As a workshop controller you will need to demonstrate: Excellent leadership and people skills Exceptional time management skills The ability to motivate staff at all levels in all departments Have a desire to coach and develop team members Have a professional appearance A VERY competitive Salary package including a monthly bonus as a % of sales and car allowance ( circa $100,000 > $105,000 ) will be negotiated based on experience to attract the right candidate.
