About the position SMC is seeking a Head of Project Sales to lead project sales activities across the ANZ region. Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director, this position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a high‑performing team. The ideal candidate will maximise sales opportunities across the full SMC product range, working closely with the broader business to grow market share and strengthen customer relationships. Your key role and responsibilities Project Sales & Market Share Growth: Lead the Project Sales growth through effective execution of the Sales strategy by leveraging SMC Head of Sales (HoS) Sales Success Indicators framework. Team Culture & Collaboration: Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and teamwork across multi‑functional teams, promoting a positive, growth‑focused attitude aligned with company objectives. Sales Strategy & Execution: Align project sales initiatives with company objectives to maximise market impact. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, senior leaders, distributors, and key customers to strengthen partnerships and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Project Market and Opportunity Analysis: Analyse the competitive environment to identify Project Sales market opportunities and product gaps, enabling sales team to focus on high‑impact opportunities and strengthen the SMC’s market position. Pipeline and Performance Management: Ensure the Project Sales consistently exceeds the monthly sales budget, while maintaining team productivity and engagement through regular check‑ins, guidance, and support. CRM Management: Ensure CRM system is updated with all investment opportunities to build a strong pipeline. Achieve Key Sales Metrics: Consistently deliver on leading and lagging metrics outlined in the SMC Sales Success framework to achieve project sales goals. About You Over 10 years’ experience in industrial/engineering B2B environment highly desirable. Over 10 years leadership experience in sales and business management roles. Proven track record in end-to-end project selling and pipeline development skills. Capability to lead development, presentation and conversion of large/complex sales opportunities. Experienced Project Sales leader with commercial capability to conduct contract review, bid preparation through to successful sale. Strong ability to operate in dynamic environments, act as a change agent, and foster a high‑performance culture within the team while influencing customer organisations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to customers, suppliers, and internal functions, while motivating teams to achieve goals. Skilled at identifying opportunities and building strong, lasting customer relationships.
