Dental Consultant

This vacancy is for a two day / week position. The salary displayed is full time equivalent. On Tuesday and Thursdays we work together from our office in South Yarra (right next to the station) and other days either from home or office. About the role The Dental Consultant is responsible for fostering positive relationships between the ADAVB and the membership it serves. This is achieved through enquiry response complaints management and general information advice / counselling. Key responsibilities Provide a professional information service to the public in response to : enquiries; and complaints concerning members of the Branch. Resolve complaints against Members in accordance with agreed protocols. Respond to complaints against the profession generally. Provide information advice and counselling services to Members of the Branch as appropriate. Provide expert professional and clinical advice to Branch Council and administrative staff in the areas of general dentistry and practice management. Provide information and representation to other dentally related affiliated organisations such as study groups Regulatory bodies and dental training facilities (when approved by the Dental Consultant Manager / CEO / Branch Council). Contribute to communications and CPD events on items of topic concern. Provide administrative support for the DCM as required. Maintain accurate records and adhere to all protocols as agreed between ADAVB and our preferred insurer. Other ad hoc and project / administration duties as directed. About you Formal Qualifications A dental degree registerable as a dentist by the Dental Board of Australia (post-graduate degrees not essential). Hold a current registration in good standing with the Dental Board of Australia with no current investigations. Experience Substantial experience in general practice. Outstanding oral written and negotiating skills essential. Developed ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally. Strong senses of patience a concern to help others independence judgment assertiveness sensitivity and lateral thinking abilities. Professionalism including the capacity to work effectively in a confidential environment. Information technology skills desirable preferably in Microsoft Office applications. Evidence of involvement in the profession beyond clinical practice that has established a recognised profile amongst peers. Capacity to acquire and analyse dento-Iegal information. Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain calm under pressure.
