About the role An opportunity exists in our Newcastle office for a Paralegal to join our CTP team on a casual basis. This role is ideal for a 3rd or 4th year law student, looking to enhance their studies with practical, hands‑on experience. Our CTP team works on matters involving claims for personal injury compensation as a result of motor vehicle accidents, including the investigation of complex medical, liability and causation issues. Your duties will be varied and will include drafting letters of instruction to doctors and experts; preparing briefs to barristers; reviewing medical records; managing the Personal Injury Commission portal for the team including diarising due dates and supporting lawyers with adhering to those. You will be given the opportunity to be mentored by and gain experience directly from a partner and senior staff. You will learn reviewing, drafting, time recording and practice management skills in a hardworking, collegiate, supportive and busy team. The experience gained as paralegal will be favourably considered for recruitment into our National Learning & Development Program for Graduate Lawyers upon your admission.
