Project Manager - Waterproofing and Coatings The construction industry in Sydney is still experiencing growth, and the forecast expects further growth over the coming years. Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager established within the Construction Industry to help their team achieve efficient delivery of the projects awarded to them and maintain the level of projects won with the entire team's help. The target projects are within: Retail direct to Client – Commercial Projects Builders and Commercial Construction Projects Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Project Manager, your role would be to help develop the new division within Construction Infrastructure and maintain the high standard of projects within the other business divisions. The projects will range from a few hundred thousand dollars to multimillion-dollar projects. Working with the estimating team, contract administrators and delivery teams (both internal and subcontractors). These roles are critical to the successful delivery of concrete flooring, waterproofing, epoxy flooring and remedial work projects as well as tunnels, bridges, and marine. These roles would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggles multiple projects, understands on-site responsibilities, and leads by example to deliver high-quality outcomes safely, efficiently, and on budget. Job Summary The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves planning, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation to drive project success. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, fosters collaboration, and ensures alignment with organisational goals. Key Responsibilities Attend RFT meetings to ensure accurate quotes and tender responses are issued. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Oversee all elements of design, planning, and construction to ensure they are in line with legislation and client requirements. Ensure projects adhere to methodologies, frameworks, and best practices. Monitor and report project progress, adjusting plans as needed. Lead, mentor, and motivate delivery teams to achieve objectives. Facilitate communication between stakeholders, sponsors, subcontractors and project teams. Resolve conflicts, ensure accountability, and foster a positive team culture. Manage relationships with clients, vendors, and third-party partners. Ensure all projects comply with WHSEQ standards. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges. Troubleshoot project issues and provide solutions to keep projects on track. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control. Ensure accurate claims schedules, invoicing and contract administration, including approvals for variations. Allocate resources effectively to optimise project efficiency. Ensure procurement and vendor contracts align with project needs. Oversee and coordinate all activities for construction and remedial projects. Ensure compliance with WHSEQ (Work Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality) standards. Manage internal teams and subcontractors to deliver high-quality workmanship. Liaise with other Project Managers and clients to ensure expectations are met and communication is clear. Interpret plans, specifications and scopes to guide daily work. Drive project schedules, monitor progress, and resolve any project issues promptly. Support variation management and reporting on job status. Uphold quality standards and conduct final inspections before handover. Understand and manage material and labour costs to avoid project blowouts. Qualifications Strong business acumen developed from previous experience with multi-project delivery. 5+ years’ experience managing multiple projects within the building and construction industry. Strong understanding of building plans and project estimation. Proven project management experience – from quoting to installation and completion. Ability to work independently and within a team. Strong communication and attention to detail. Tech‑savvy with the ability to use project management software and tools. Valid driver’s license and industry safety card.
