Royal North Shore Operating Theatres is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support robotic surgery procedures and optimal outcomes in the role of Robotics Coordinator. The position is full time for 12 months. What you'll be doing The Robotics Coordinator is instrumental in ensuring the successful integration of robotic surgical technologies and the optimisation of team performance. The role oversees the day-to-day clinical activities that support robotic surgery procedures and optimal outcomes. This position involves the development and implementation of policies, guiding practice development, and contributing to educational and research initiatives within the department. The role provides expert clinical support during robotic surgical procedures, offering guidance and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout. The role coordinates the ordering and management of instruments and consumables, maintaining adequate stock levels to support surgeries. This position is responsible for ordering and maintaining the inventory of instruments and consumables to ensure continuous availability for clinical procedures. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Registered Nurse with Authority to Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full-time post-graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition, the applicant must have an approved postgraduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework. Demonstrated ability to undertake quality improvement and research activities that influence and enhance clinical practice and implement change. Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching and robotic surgical technologies, and ability to lead nursing practice in robotic-assisted surgery by setting standards, mentoring staff, and driving innovation in surgical nursing. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
