About the Opportunity The Events team delivers an annual program of welcoming major community events, civic events and activations that celebrate Cumberland's rich cultural diversity including Australia Day, Lunar New Year, Easter, Ramadan Street Festival, Nowruz, Diwali, Christmas and the crowd favourite Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival. The Events Producer will work with the Events Team to develop and implement Council's Events Strategy. This position is responsible for planning, organising and executing a variety of Council events through full event lifecycle from development, planning, delivery, evaluation, assessment and reporting. Responsibilities Plan, organise and execute a variety of Council events through the full event lifecycle including development, planning, delivery, evaluation, assessment and reporting. Work with the Events Team to develop and implement Council's Events Strategy. Qualifications Relevant qualification in Event Management or related industry experience in delivery of events. Extensive event management experience. Extensive working knowledge of event site operations, logistics, risk management and compliance. Well‑developed interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder management. Well‑developed project management skills. High level of interpersonal and customer service skills. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high‑quality customer service. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Commercially minded, contributing ideas that are passionate, creative, and demonstrate an ability to think innovatively with respect to projects within major community events. Demonstrated research and analytical skills, ability to work independently and as a team member. Working with Children Check. About this Role 1x term contract part‑time position, commencing from 12 January until 30 June. Working 56 hour fortnights, with core hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, however may be required to work after hours and weekends to deliver events. Located at Council's Merrylands office and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations. Salary: Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with an hourly rate of ______ per week plus 12% superannuation. What You'll Need to Have for This Role The right to live and work in Australia.
