12-month QLD Government contract | Brisbane CBD | Possible extension Hands-on role across cloud, network & security platforms (AWS, Azure, Palo Alto) Join a collaborative ICT team delivering enterprise-grade security services We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to join a large Queensland Government ICT team responsible for managing and protecting enterprise‑scale network and cloud infrastructure. Working within a collaborative Information Security environment, you will provide engineering, administration, and operational support across a range of critical security technologies, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of core ICT systems. Key Responsibilities Engineer, build, and support enterprise security infrastructure including: Palo Alto Firewalls F5 Application Delivery Controllers (LTM, ASM, APM) Secure Email Gateways and external access environments Security Service Edge (SSE) / Zero‑Trust technologies Cloud Security Services across AWS and Azure Routers, switches, and secure network configurations Monitor performance against SLAs and prepare technical reports and improvement recommendations. Maintain high-quality configuration and procedural documentation. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues. Contribute to knowledge transfer and mentor junior team members. Participate in rostered on‑call support and after‑hours maintenance as required. About You You are a hands‑on security engineer with a strong background in network and cloud security, who enjoys working across complex enterprise environments. You combine deep technical capability with strong communication skills and thrive in team‑based settings. To be successful To be successful, you'll bring: Demonstrated experience supporting large enterprise or government networks. Proven skills across cloud security (AWS / Azure) and network infrastructure. Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and / or F5 ADCs (LTM, ASM, APM). Knowledge of Security Service Edge (SSE) or Zero Trust solutions. Understanding of ITIL processes, security risk, and compliance frameworks.
