Mens Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation – Broome WA An exciting opportunity is now available for a male Family Domestic Violence (FDV) practitioner to work within and co‑facilitate workshop sessions adapted from our popular men’s behaviour change program, Change Em Ways. The position is based in Broome with regular overnight travel to three specified locations within the Kimberley region. A fixed‑term contract is available to 30 June, with possibility of extension. Duties and responsibilities Co‑facilitation of the CEW Communities program, which seeks to address family and domestic violence by working intensively with men and their partners to increase safety. Case management of clients as they progress through the program, including provision of group and individual sessions. Completion of risk assessments and safety plans. Collection of data to assist in the evaluation process, including feedback from FDV clients, their (ex) partners and other family/community members. Participation in debriefing sessions at the end of each workshop day and in regular professional supervision. Liaison with other members of the Change Em Ways team, including the Cultural Guidance Worker and members of MOSAC’s Cultural Reference Group, to ensure that cultural protocols are followed and that team practice is culturally secure in the Kimberley Indigenous context. Ideal candidate profile Experience in Family Domestic Violence (FDV) work. Experience in group program facilitation. Ability to work with First Nations people. Ability to travel and work in the Kimberley, including areas outside Broome. Good time‑management, written and verbal communication, planning and organisation skills. Commitment to regular travel, including overnight stays. Training and mentoring will be provided to the successful applicant. Qualifications and training Certificate III in Community Service or equivalent. Relevant qualification from a recognised tertiary or training institution. Experience in group facilitation. Applicants must hold a ‘C’ class drivers’ licence with no restrictions. Aboriginal applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Selection criteria Knowledge of, and preferably experience in, program and service delivery to a diverse range of participants within a human services setting, including in the area of family domestic violence. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture, and the ability to apply cultural knowledge and sensitivities in an operational setting. Demonstrated experience or ability to complete training to apply the concepts and principles of Indigenous family domestic violence intervention within a culturally safe, strength‑based, trauma‑informed framework which promotes safety, accountability, responsibility and respect. Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, working successfully with Aboriginal staff and to participate in reflective practice sessions. Experience in liaising with stakeholders to improve service delivery and outcomes. Ability to use or complete training in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. What we offer $105,000 – $112,000 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience plus travel allowance.5 weeks Annual Leave with 17.5 % loading per annum, Not‑for‑Profit generous salary packaging which includes remote housing benefits, anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional leave days at Christmas and 2 days Mental Health leave, access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and study opportunities.
