DSO Strategy Manager

Description We are currently recruiting a permanent DSO Strategy Manager. This role can be based anywhere within our operational footprint with the ability work from home in a hybrid work environment. About the role As the DSO Strategy Manager within the Distribution System Operator (DSO) team you will provide expert advice strategic direction and leadership to ensure Essential Energy develops the capability and performance needed for a rapid transition to high penetration of distributed customer energy resources and flexible loads. You'll lead the development of long-term business and network strategies initiatives and programs to deliver the transition to a contemporary DSO that is future-ready and aligned with corporate objectives. You'll also be responsible for identifying communicating and translating external industry shifts into actionable business strategies. This is a high-impact leadership role that requires a balance of technical insight commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement and your work will ensure stakeholders have confidence in our future direction. Key Responsibilities Providing strategic leadership to shape and advance the future capabilities of Essential Energy's distribution network ensuring readiness for high penetration of distributed energy resources and flexible loads. Developing strategies and initiatives for demand management and DSO capabilities staying ahead of industry trends and maximising the value of consumer energy resources for all customers. Developing robust business cases and economic assessments for DSO initiatives including demand management programs and innovative connections options clearly articulating customer and business value. Managing performance and regulatory reporting of DSO systems. Driving cross-functional collaboration across digital engineering asset management strategy regulatory and pricing teams to deliver strategic programs and capability development that support the DSO transition. Representing Essential Energy in regulatory and strategic forums to influence policy and direction. About You You are a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the electricity distribution industry and a passion for innovation. Your ability to navigate complex challenges influence stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes sets you apart. You bring a strong commercial mindset a collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement. With your experience in developing and implementing future-focused strategies you are ready to lead Essential Energy into the next era of energy transformation. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and / or relevant qualifications Desirable Qualifications Qualifications in Asset Management Information Technology Business Commerce or Economics.
