About The Role InfraBuild Manufacturing are seeking a highly experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and design drafters within our national operations. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full design lifecycle of engineering initiatives—from scoping and design to quality monitoring, and reporting—ensuring delivery aligns with InfraBuild’s high standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Working from our manufacturing site in Mayfield , this role is accountable for the effective deployment of engineering resources across Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical disciplines. You’ll play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, refining processes, and driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role has become available due to the upcoming retirement of our long-serving Engineering Manager after an incredible 16 years of dedication within the role. This role offers a unique opportunity to have a lasting impact on our national engineering capability, while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused heavy industrial environment. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and developing a high-performing engineering team, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and technical excellence. Managing stakeholder relationships to ensure clarity in scope, objectives, and reporting requirements Ensuring engineering processes and design assurance frameworks are compliant, robust, and continually improved Providing technical and strategic support to construction, procurement, and commissioning teams Driving effective resource planning and performance management to meet KPIs Championing innovation, knowledge sharing, and best practice across engineering functions To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong mix of technical depth, commercial acumen, and proven leadership within engineering-intensive environments. We are looking for someone who can lead from the front—supporting teams, solving problems, and ensuring delivery excellence across all aspects of engineering management. Your background should include: A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, or related discipline); Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure environment A demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice Knowledge of the full lifecycle of engineering projects including design, cost control, quality, and delivery Strong commercial understanding and ability to drive cost-effective engineering solutions Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Strong communication and effective stakeholder management with the ability to influence at all levels—internal and external A collaborative leadership style and experience in building team capability, succession planning, and performance management Knowledge of Australian Standards, design assurance, risk management, and compliance frameworks in engineering projects Key Benefits Below are some of our key central benefits that are available to InfraBuild employees.
