South Coast Writers Centre – Wollongong NSW For the position of Volunteer Co‑ordinator the SCWC seeks someone who can manage communications, recruitment, and scheduling of volunteers. Responsibilities Manage a volunteer mailing list Prepare a newsletter advertising volunteer opportunities Co‑ordinate with the Media Officer to advertise volunteer opportunities Manage the scheduling of volunteers for events Attend events (when needed) to train and assist volunteers The SCWC is a not‑for‑profit with a public fund and its operations are overseen by a voluntary committee of management. The South Coast Writers Centre supports the creation and enjoyment of Australian literature through the provision of creative and professional development, literary events and audience growth across the New South Wales South Coast. With offices based in Wollongong, the Centre aims to promote regional writers and writing in Australia while fostering creative and professional development for South Coast writers. The development of existing and new audiences for writers and writing is strongly supported, and the distinct literary cultures of the South Coast are valued and sustained. The Centre always strives for the inclusion of South Coast writers in Australian literary culture and ultimately endeavours to maintain social inclusion, access, equity and the participation of members in all aspects of the Centre. The South Coast Writers Centre is a membership‑based, incorporated not‑for‑profit organisation supported by Create NSW and Wollongong City Council.
