About the role The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Plan International Australia as our Philanthropy Lead. The Philanthropy Lead is responsible for growing our Major Donor and Trusts and Foundations Program’s. You will be charged with leading and inspiring a small team responsible for delivering on an ambitious plan to grow giving across this portfolio. Working with the Associate Director of Giving and in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, this role will develop and execute the Philanthropy Strategy and support the team to deliver on the operational plan in acquiring, retaining, upgrading, and reactivating the Philanthropy cohort. This is a 12 to 13 month parental leave position. We’re looking for a creative and ambitious leader who has a strong understanding of both driving strategy and leading teams. What it’s really like An average day in the PIA, the Giving team is quite varied – no day will be quite the same, but throughout your time, we will see you performing these duties : Lead a small team supporting them in achieving ambitious goals Advise on new opportunities to grow the portfolio through acquisition and within our existing supporter base Work with the team to develop retention and upgrade plans and a best-in‑class stewardship program Ensure the best offerings of support are developed with our Philanthropic donors that fits with both the donors requirements and Plan’s financial needs Identify opportunities within the current portfolio for innovation and product development Work with the Philanthropy team and the Data and Insights team to ensure the new CRM is being utilized for optimal success in the Philanthropic space Deliver agreed reporting on the Philanthropy Program, including monthly reporting updates, reports to Board and sub‑committees, budgeting updates, etc Develop the annual budget and work plan Our office is in Southbank and we operate a hybrid working model. We would consider people from other locations for this role. We work hard, but we are always flexible and supportive, offering inclusive leave. We are looking for someone who holds relevant and diverse experience in Philanthropic giving, ideally from Major Donors and Trusts and Foundations. You will also have a strong understanding and track record of how to steward and grow a pipeline of philanthropic donors. The core skills we are looking for are : Experience with managing a Philanthropy team Demonstrated experience raising money from Major Donors, PAFs and Trusts and Foundations Ability to develop strategies for growth across the portfolio Exceptional Relationship Management Skills including, portfolio management, proposal development, progress reports and face to face solicitation. Experience in organisation of major donor‑appropriate engagement activities, including events, public speaking and / or delivering presentations and representing an organisation at a senior level Strong understanding of broad fundraising principles High level of computer literacy Hours, pay and start date This is a full time fixed term parental leave position that falls under Level 5 of the SCHCADS Award.
