The School Kondinin Primary School (PS) is a small, inspiring and community minded school with a diverse student population, and our school services the families that live within the town and on surrounding farms. At Kondinin PS, we focus on using our strengths to drive student learning. As a school and community our strengths centre on our small and very tightly knit community – where everyone looks out for each other, which is underpinned by strong diversity. As a small school, we are intricately intertwined and connected to our community. Kondinin is a proud town located in the Wheatbelt, approximately 3 hours' drive east of Perth, with a population of around 300. The community enjoys fantastic facilities, including a newly built swimming pool, sports club and community garden that are next to the school. Kondinin serves as a hub for hospital services, engineering for the agricultural sector, aged care and is the base for Western Power workers for the district. The town is very family friendly with many outdoor play areas for children, and a proactive Community Resource Centre, who often puts on events and after school workshops for kids. The Role We are seeking a teacher who is committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and is a collegial, effective collaborator. The successful applicant will ideally be a motivated, skilled and pro‑active educator who holds themselves accountable for improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day. You should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs for a multi‑age class, using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS). Experience with evidence‑based programs, including the effective use of daily reviews in literacy and numeracy, is highly regarded. A passion for play‑based, hands‑on learning—balanced with explicit instruction across all curriculum areas—is vital. The ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should have a high level of professional skill, driven by a commitment to high‑performance teaching and learning. They will be open to participating in a culture of observation and feedback, recognising its value for professional growth and improved student outcomes.
