Type: Full-time *Hours are 11am - 7pm* Location: Southport, QLD Remuneration: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (Level 5) + full salary packaging options available up to $15,900 per annum About Us: Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, who’s work championed social justice, mental health support, and innovative youth services. Today, the Foundation continues his legacy, delivering frontline services and community support across NSW, ACT & QLD. With over 200 staff and 350 volunteers, we remain deeply committed to helping young people affected by issues related to drugs, crime, and mental health. The Role: Noffs is looking for a passionate and dedicated Coordinator to join our Street University in Southport. This is a creative and artistic space for young people and includes working with a team to develop workshops, performances, and showcases. The Street University offers engagement services to young people between the ages of 12-25 and the wider community, and provides an important access point to young people who do not engage in mainstream services. Through these programs the aim is to use the arts as a vehicle to empower young people and increase their motivation and confidence to develop and achieve personal goals. Responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to: To create and oversee weekly music, dance and art workshops capturing and harnessing talent and assisting young people who have high needs or need support. This includes; developing & promoting programs, facilitating and supervising workshops, and progress reporting where necessary. Building a thriving client community among young people, and creating a safe and creative space at the Southport Street University. Coordinate events that showcase young people’s talents and skills and promote the Street University to the community. Support coordination and maintenance of the physical space and equipment. Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in the community. Coordinate and manage all staff within the Street University as well as student placements and volunteers. This includes management of rosters, leaves, payroll and staff performance review processes. Responsible for ensuring facilitation and review of brief assessments and engagement plans of young people engaging in the Southport Street University as per the Street University Model. Work in collaboration with clinical teams to ensure smooth transition of young people into Ted Noffs Foundation Clinical Services. This includes working with the QLD Outreach Services Manager who will maintain clinical oversight and support of the clinical team. Must be available to work the hours of 11am to 7pm. Experience and Qualifications: Experience in working with young people , preferably those with alcohol and other drug related difficulties. Experience in a community development setting. Initiative, creativity and practical life skills to organise positive group programs and other activities for young people. Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with key stakeholders. Proven organisational skills and the ability to multi-task with attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines. Commitment to the principles of harm minimisation and to the aims of the Ted Noffs Foundation. Must hold and maintain a cleared QLD Blue Card and a current Driver Licence (provisional licence minimum). Must be available to work the hours of 11am to 7pm.
