Contract until 30 June 2026 + potential extension 4 days in the Office & 1 working from home Up to $117.10 + Super per hour Our client are a large state government organisation based in Brisbane who deliver essential public services across Queensland. Due to a critical project, they are looking for a systems administrator to work across their Vulnerability uplift project team and be responsible for patching and upgrading their IT infrastructure. What you will be doing: Fix security issues by applying patches, updating systems, and making configuration changes. Manage the full process of fixing vulnerabilities - planning the work, getting approvals, testing, and rolling out changes. Help design automated patching methods that meet Essential 8 requirements. Set up automated tools to regularly deploy operating system and application updates across servers, computers, and IoT devices. Use Group Policy, Intune, or scripts to fix configuration problems across servers, workstations, mobiles, and IoT devices. About You: Around 5+ years working in IT Operations, Systems Administration, or similar technical roles. Hands‑on experience setting up and supporting a mix of infrastructure such as Windows Servers, Active Directory, SQL clusters, Commvault, Group Policy, VMware, mobile devices, and IoT devices. Experience managing Intune, Azure Update Manager, and server monitoring tools. Good understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management practices. Recent experience working on vulnerability management in large or complex environments (enterprise, corporate, or government).
