About the Role Join the dynamic and supportive team within the John Hunter Hospital Admission Service, where you’ll play a vital role in coordinating patient admissions and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of admission workflows across the hospital. As an Admissions Officer, you will: Oversee the coordination and processing of elective and emergency patient admissions. Ensure compliance with NSW Health and Ministry of Health policies and procedures. Support efficient elective surgery waitlist management and revenue integrity processes. Work collaboratively with multiple departments to deliver timely, patient-focused outcomes. Contribute to service succession planning and provide coverage across the 24/7 roster. About You You are a reliable, adaptable, and proactive team member who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment. You demonstrate: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain composure under pressure. A flexible approach and willingness to adapt to different roles across shifts. A patient‑centred mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork. Experience in hospital admissions, patient administration systems (such as iPM or eMR), or NSW Health environments will be highly regarded.
