Stakeholder Engagement Officer and Senior Engagement Officer - Central Group The APS 5 Stakeholder Engagement Officer is an informal leadership role within the Branch, supporting the delivery of high-quality services and policy implementation. This position assists in managing day-to-day team activities, ensuring tasks are completed within agreed performance measures and will include the following: Responsibilities (APS 5) Coordinate team workflow to ensure priorities are managed and tasks are completed on time Plan and deliver small-scale projects within the team and contribute to larger branch initiatives Monitor and report on performance, identifying issues and implementing solutions to meet quality and performance targets Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and supporting implementation of changes Provide technical and operational advice to the team and respond to moderately complex enquiries and complaints using sound judgement and legislative frameworks Represent the team in forums and build productive relationships with providers, partners, and stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes Ensure compliance with APS Values, Code of Conduct, WHS obligations, and NIAA risk management framework, guiding others in identifying and mitigating risks Model collaborative behaviours, promote a healthy and inclusive workplace, and share expertise to improve team performance In addition, the APS 6 Senior Stakeholder Engagement Officer will: Responsibilities (APS 6) Lead and foster a high-performing team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and quality outcomes Provide clear work expectations, systems, and processes, offering regular feedback, mentoring, and support for ongoing learning and development Plan and coordinate team workflow, ensuring priorities are managed effectively and performance measures are met Drive continuous improvement by conducting reviews, applying quality assurance processes, and implementing strategies to enhance performance in a changing environment Provide technical and operational guidance, responding to complex enquiries and complaints using sound judgment and evidence-based decision-making aligned with legislative frameworks Represent the branch in forums and build inclusive networks through collaboration with providers, partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve outcomes Model ethical behaviour and integrity in accordance with APS Values and Code of Conduct Promote a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement Our Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, you will be authentic, act with integrity and deliver with purpose to achieve high quality results for First Nations people in the region. As the lead Commonwealth Agency for Indigenous Australians affairs, you will need to have an appreciation, awareness and understanding of matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities and be committed to strengthening your ongoing cultural competency.
